Organic fertiliser

Anaerobic digestate utilises local resources and provides a nutrient-rich alternative to mineral fertilisers, with a positive effect on both soil and crops.

Anaerobic digestate: Nature's own circulatory system back to earth

When we recover energy in the form of biogas, we are left with a nutrient-rich residual product: digestate. This is not a waste product, but a high-quality fertiliser containing all the essential nutrients plants need to grow. By returning the digestate to the field, we close the nutrient loop and create a true circular economy.

World-class nutrition

Our digestate is processed through a controlled decomposition process that makes the nutrients more available to plants than in ordinary animal manure:

  • Naturally rich in NPK: The bio-fertiliser contains significant amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Because the biomass is fully digested, plants can take up these nutrients more quickly and efficiently.

  • Better soil health: In addition to the primary nutrients, digestate supplies organic matter that improves soil structure, increases water retention capacity and stimulates soil microbial life.

  • Adapted to local need: At our plants, we can separate phosphorus and nitrogen. This makes it possible to tailor the fertiliser to the specific soil and crops the farmer has, resulting in an optimal yield.

Why choose biofertiliser from an Antec facility?

We work closely with the agricultural sector to ensure that the logistics surrounding biofertiliser are just as efficient as the production itself:

  • Reduced need for artificial fertiliser: By using bio-fertiliser, the farmer can reduce or completely replace the use of expensive mineral fertiliser. This is both economically advantageous and environmentally friendly.

  • Less odour and better hygiene: The decomposition process in our closed reactors significantly reduces odour issues compared to raw slurry, while the technology ensures that unwanted bacteria are eliminated.

  • Seamless logistics: We take care of storage and coordination, so that the farmer has access to the fertiliser when the need is greatest – during the growing season.

From farm to fork – and back again: Digestate is proof that nothing goes to waste at Antec. By supplying food waste or slurry to our plants, you contribute to a value chain where resources are used over and over again.
