We transform animal manure into clean energy. Farmers get nutritious biofertiliser in return, which enriches the soil, increases yields and cuts the need for mineral fertiliser in a circular, local loop.

From livestock manure to renewable energy

Livestock manure can be both an emissions challenge and a valuable resource. Antec plants convert it into biogas and nutrient-rich digestate, creating a circular solution that supports renewable energy production, efficient nutrient use and resilient local food production.

More value for farmers

When farmers supply manure to an Antec plant, it is used to produce renewable energy. The resulting digestate can be returned for use as biofertiliser, making better use of nutrients already available on the farm.

  • Nutrient-rich biofertiliser: Anaerobic digestion retains key nutrients, including nitrogen and phosphorus, in the digestate.

  • Better crops: Nutrients in digestate are more readily available to plants than those in raw manure, supporting better growing conditions and improved soil quality.

  • Lower input costs: Using digestate can reduce the need for purchased mineral fertiliser.

  • Practical logistics: We work closely with farmers to develop efficient transport and storage arrangements that fit their day-to-day operations.

Our model: Build, Own and Operate (BOO)

Under our BOO model, Antec develops, designs, builds, owns and operates the biogas plant. This enables farmers and local partners to focus on their core activities while we manage the plant’s technical performance and day-to-day operation. The model provides a professionally managed, long-term solution without requiring individual farmers to take on plant ownership or operational responsibility.

Did you know? Storing untreated manure can release methane into the atmosphere. Anaerobic digestion captures the gas and converts it into renewable energy. Once upgraded to biomethane, it can also be used as a renewable transport fuel.
