Organic waste

Antec’s facility transforms organic waste and clean food waste into valuable products. Through anaerobic digestion, we produce biogas, bio-CO₂ and biofertiliser. These products replace fossil-based alternatives, reduce emissions and create a sustainable, circular value chain for industry with very high resource utilisation.

Circular energy solutions for industry and waste management

For industrial businesses and the waste sector, organic waste represents an underused energy resource. Antec helps businesses and municipalities move from traditional waste management to a circular value chain. We process food waste and organic by-products into high-grade biomethane and bio-CO₂, returning both to productive use in industry.

Effective management of complex waste

Our technology is designed to process the energy-rich and complex organic waste streams commonly found in industry:

  • Organic food waste: We accept source-separated food waste from households and commercial kitchens, as well as slurries generated by food production.

  • High-energy by-products: Our biofilm reactor can handle high organic loading rates, making it well suited to energy-dense waste that requires stable and efficient digestion.

  • Bio-CO₂ for industry: Our process captures bio-CO₂ that can replace fossil-based CO₂ in food production, refrigeration systems and other industrial processes.

Benefits for industrial operators

By partnering with Antec, industrial operators gain a long-term, predictable approach to managing their organic residual streams:

  • Closed-loop value chains: We help businesses achieve their sustainability goals through documented emission reductions and increased resource utilisation.

  • Predictability through the BOO model: Under our Build, Own and Operate model, Antec takes responsibility for the capital expenditure and plant operations. Customers gain a professional partner that manages the entire value chain, from planning through to day-to-day operation.

  • Local energy generation: The biogas produced can be upgraded to renewable liquefied biogas (LBG) for transport fleets or used as a source of heat in industrial processes.

Circular value: Food waste is transformed from a cost into a valuable resource. By removing plastics and other impurities, we ensure that its nutrients are returned to the soil as biofertiliser, while the recovered energy supports transport and industrial processes.
