By combining our proprietary Biofilm Plug Flow technology with conventional anaerobic treatment, we are setting a new standard for efficient resource utilization in Western Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From local waste to green energy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The facility has the capacity to process <strong>150,000 tonnes of biomass annually<\/strong>. We create a robust value chain by receiving raw materials from several key industries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Agriculture<\/strong> Manure from nearby farms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aquaculture<\/strong> Fish sludge and fish silage from the region's aquaculture industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Household:<\/strong> Slurry based on organic food waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our products and contributions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the biological process we extract energy and nutrients that go directly back to society:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Liquefied biogas (LBG):<\/strong> A climate-friendly fuel for lorries and ships that reduces emissions in the transport sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tailored bio-fertilisers:<\/strong> We separate phosphorus and nitrogen to create a nutrient-rich fertiliser tailored to the local soil. This improves crop yields and reduces farmers' need for chemical fertilisers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Green Bio-CO\u2082:<\/strong> In the next phase, we will capture CO\u2082 from the process for delivery to the food and drink industry, which further strengthens the circular model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Large ripple effects for Volda and the region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vest Biogass is more than an industrial plant; it is an engine for sustainable development.
